I have been thinking about this lately. Starting with the end of a series. I will break this down.
Stage 1 of the cycle is Disappointment: Thus being you picked up the final repainted figure to complete the current line being collected.
Stage 2 Depression: That gap when you are still waiting to see how the next line will pan out. This turns into stage 3.
Stage 3 Anticipation: Test shots and rumors start popping up about the upcoming line.
Stage 4 Going Nuts: The new line is released and you are buying every figure you find.
Stage 5 Desperation: Broke from buying ever thing in site and still more new figures are flooding out.
Stage 6 Joy: Hasbro begins to slow the release of figures so your wallet can take the strain.
Stage 7 Anger: Hasbro has held back the relies of new figures for a better demographic time frame for profit. ( Usually at the very end of a line with very few figures remaining).
Stage 8 Disappointment: (Same as stage 1)

What a depressing way to look at it! I think when I finish a series I'm happy/relieved that I've finished it and can take a break and enjoy it. Then I'm excited for new figs, I buy the new figs I really want, get a bit annoyed when I can't find some of em (blight, blackout I'm looking at you! Actually I'm not bc I can't find you, argh )..then it starts again. Overall I get more happiness from my collection than disappointed/annoyance; maybe your list is the answer to why you're losing interest gman; doesn't seem like you're enjoying yourself w/ the hobby.
