Yeah, that's it. I'm jealous of adults who play with toy robots. Honestly, even though I'm married to one of you, I still don't understand the facination. I tolerate it without complaint (usually ), but I don't understand it..... *shrugs* You understand collecting though. Don't you collect things? I collect a lot of this stuff because i find it very interesting. More stuff than transformers, but let's focus on transformers. You have an item which wasn't only designed from an artwork or sculpting standpoint - It had to be able to change from one thing to another...possibly more than once. It takes a lot of skill sometimes (see Masterpiece Optimus Prime). I am a hands-on engineering type of guy, so I can relate to them easily. For me, a lot of it comes from childhood memories - I collect the toys from when I was a kid & associate each of the toys with the cartoon characters that I grew up watching. It is a wonderful thing to collect with plenty of variety. (And that was just Transformers) Also - Please note that I do not play with my toys. Some collectors do this, and that is fine. I am mostly a display type person. You are in charge of decorating your house - I do somewhat the same thing with toys. As far as not understanding things - I never understood beanie babies. While I am sure that there were (are) legit collectors of the things....you have a group of items that were jumped upon by people who decided to collect them for the sole reason that the media told them to collect them. Ridiculous. Somebody explain that one. As for the "toy robot" thing - you have to admit...you are a girl, afterall. (Other members of present company accepted)

and just shake my head at their obsession with toys. You can disagree....but that statement is kinda insulting. This is place first and foremost for toys (and primarily transformers) afterall. And I disagree - I don't think any of us are obsessed. Enthusiastic, yes. Obsessed? No.

Forgive me, please. I wasn't trying to insult anyone. I'm honestly not trying to start a fight, or heated discussion. I was simply trying to express my point of view. Obviously I didn't do such a good job.
When I joined this board my invitation was paraphrased, "You don't have to like TF to be a part."
My original comment in this thread that sparked this conversation was spoken in jest. Seeing how this board is usually lighthearted, I expected it to be taken that way. I am sorry that it wasn't clear. Your response, Ck, hit a nerve for some reason, and I felt the need to explain myself.
Again I apologize for how my post was percieved.

I'ld leave her alone Chris. She has an ax I took it in jest. My wife says the same thing all the time. It just gives me the opportunity to tease her about her Creative Memories Albums
