Hey all -
I was thinking about doing an Energon Station Radio show of coolest toy hauls at Christmas time. Everyone can e-mail in a story about a Christmas haul toy you received for Christmas back in the day.
Please try to keep it to one toy unless you got two toys the same Christmas that were designed to go together. Also try to keep it "in the past" and not something you got within the last ten+ years. Personally, I am hoping for 80s-based stories.
Tell me how much you wanted it. Tell me what it was like unwrapping it. Did you shake it beforehand? Were you completely shocked when you got it? Did you have trouble sharing it? Did you call all your friends? Try to remember juicy specifics using the sentences above.
Also - Tell me why you wanted the toy. Was it popular? Was it something you and you alone wanted? Had you been wanting it for a really long time? (Possibly multiple Christmases)
So it will essentially be a "sharing story" based show, but in audio. What do you think?
If you want to contribute a personal story, just let me know you are interested by replying to this thread with either "good idea", "bad idea", "I dunno....," etc.... If you say yes, I will probably grill you about writing it so I can get the show done in time for Christmas. I know this is a busy time for everyone, but let's set the deadline for 2 weeks. That gives me the week before Christmas to try to record it.
You can then e-mail your story to: energonstationradio@yahoo.com.
Don't post it here! It will spoil the surprise and give me no reason to record the show.
I think I pretty much know who everyone is on here, but let me request that you indicate in the e-mail how you want to be identified. For instance - "Chris" or "CkRtech." Recall that some people may not know your real name here. You may want to sign it with either your online name or your real name along with the online name. If you don't want to give your real name, just sign it with the online name.
I know everyone is busy this time of year, but please contribute!
