I came home to no net. Called support. They told me to exchange the modum. Did that. DIdn't work. They forgot to upgrade the software for the new server. Tech did that on the second call. My net droped again ( intermitntly now) Called tech again. Now it won't be until Sat before I can get a tech here. On top of this. COX won't credit my acount, and if I am not here when the tech comes I get a $50 charge on my account...

Sounds like the next time you call you need to just scream and yell your way up to the supervisor. Especially if they won't credit your account when the problem was on their side .....

Still having prblems... Cox has finaly realised there is a real problem here. So they are going to have a field supervisor come out and work on the problem until they know it is fixed. All I know is that I am going to be getting credited from day one of my problems until the day that everything is fixed. Since my problem is only intermitent. I can still keep up with everything going on.

Add on another $20 credit for the tech not being ontime. I had to rescedule to Wed since they said he would be here around 7 today. I don't want to have someone messing with my cable while I am watching Transformers.

ANother update. The 4th tech just left. He had a laptop that gave him all the info he need about my signal. Without the techno bable. I was getting to much of a good thing. My signal was way high causing my modum to dump the connection. I hope this is it. I plan on downloading more torrents so I want a solid connection.

Do you have a backup dial-up connection available?
....for that matter - do you have a modem? haha.

Actualy its been fixed for a week now. I was on vacation befor that. I also had to work nights this past week. The problem was out at the junction box. The connector it screws onto had about 1/4 of it broken off. The cable was then torqued down on it causing the center conductore to short ou. DUmping my connection in the process....
