A Firefox user pushing the old Internet Explorer away. Mainly for CK, but I think there are some other FF users here.

What bad things have you heard?! I just downloaded it last night thinking I needed that! Doesn't it have the patch for the flaw IE had?!
On a side note, I used to use Firefox, but it screwed up too much for me, and wouldn't work on another forum board i frequent, so I said forget it!

Chances are that the situation has improved since you last tried firefox. Firefox is relatively young in its "personal" development cycle, so the updates that it receives are usually pretty significant.
Problems encountered in firefox are usually not a problem with the browser, but rather a poorly-coded website. Internet Explorer accepts *everything* a web page can offer. It is for this reason that you will most likely pick up spyware or other forms of malware by using Internet Explorer. Avoiding the use of the web browser (as I do) helps reduce the risk of potential problems in the future.
One other alternative browser is Opera.
I recommend that most people stay away from IE, though I do keep mine up to date.

It does. The function can be turned on or off.
