OK, I am going to open up what could be a can of worms.
With the elections coming up soon I was thinking about a couple of things. One is that the House/Senate needs term limits and 2, no real work gets done in an election year. So here is what I am thinking needs to be done.
The House, Senate and President all only serve one 8 year term. After that, they are done. That way there is no distraction during the election year and we no longer have career politicians.
What do you guys think of my idea? Also i would like to hear what you guys think of the 2 party system and how they just cant find a way to compromise.

I like term limits and I like Rick Perry's idea of how congress should work part time like the Texas state senate does FYI I'm not a Rick Perry person I just like that idea ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

We've been warned about the dangers of a two party system since the days of John Adams, and now we're reaping what we've sown.
The two party system is a joke as there is no counterbalance to two parties that at times come closer and closer on ideology. We need a viable third, fourth, and maybe fifth party.
I like the idea of term limits, especially for the Senate and Congress, but I'm fine w/ the ones set for presidents.
You're certainly correct in that nothing is accomplished in an election year as candidates are too worried about (re)election to do anything and try to ride their previous accomplishments to a victory.

I agree with him on no more big government but I don't think he can win the republican nomination I thought that too and I'm still not sure he can, but if the mainstream media would pay attention to him I think he'd be the obvious front-runner. He's neck-and-neck w/ gingrich now, and he has the overwhelming support of the military. Hopefully he can pull it off.
