WEll, I guess the MOTUC line is picking up steam. Stratos has sold out in 4 days. What great news in these horrible economic times. Hopefully Mattel is happy withthe fan response and this will keep the wheels turning for MOTUC.
Mine is arriving this week along with the DCIH figure stands and the JLU Gotham Criminals set. I have left these int he package for the time being, but I really love them. Not crazy about the price, but it is what it is at this point.

This whole MOTUC is one of the biggest jokes in the toy industry. Mattel stated right off the bat that everyone will have a chance to own these. Now they accually take them off the web site to bring them around to all their shows to sell.
I think I am just bitter with Mattel in general since they can't get product out and what is out has terrible quality issues. I really would like to give Mattel my money. They just make it so dang hard.

I think they only hold 3% of the product back, the rest is sold through the website. THe only shows they are supposedly selling figures at is SDCC and NYCC. I wish they would do everything through MattyCollector.com, just because you can actually purchase the items and don't have to rely on finding a store that doesn't have a peg warmer in stock.
I am getting a little burned wiht Mattel on the DCIH figures. They are near impossible to find anywhere around here. DCUC is in the same boat. If I didn't preorder through BBTS, I would never get them or the variants.

No, their exact words were, "we want every collector to have a chance to own this line." When you do not have limits on orders you are not really concerned about the collector. BBTS has preorders on figures and are selling them for $20 + over cost. I think its a mistake for them not to have additional production runs. I know they said key characters will be reproduced at a future time, but interest will not keep up if pewople can't have He-man and Skeletor begin their collection.

I'm with Bear on this one. Would it be all that difficult for Mattel to just crank out another run of a figure if it sells out right away? Not in 6 months or a year, but within a month or two? I've never been a fan of these limited runs, because it creates a negative hysteria, imo. Fans feel like they have to scramble around like a chicken with its head cut off to either buy the figures on-line the day it hits, or if they miss that window, pay exhorbinant amounts for the figure on places like ebay. Which in-turn encourages other people to buy up the figures simply to scalp them for a quick turnaround.
Heck, now I'm worried that I'll have to be on full-alert for when the Ghostbusters figures hit mattycollector. Definitely don't want to miss out on those.
