Enemy Vehicle Analysis: JACKHAMMER

The SUV from hell. The Jackhammer was the work horse of the VENOM forces. Back when MASK was on the air an SUV was actually known as an ORV. Anyone who can guess what it stands for gets a free whozewhatsit. More then likely the Ford Bronco was the model for the Jackhammer.

.
The Jackhammer was a mobile armored gun turret. When in assault mode it seemed to be covered in heavy plated armor. It also had the ability to be driven from both the cockpit and the turret. Along with the Turret it also boasted an armament of front gatling guns and a small machine gun which could be manually operated by the pilot.

Cliff Dagger is the classic muscle villain. His character from the cartoon almost had a Lenny feel to him (Of Mice and Men for those of you playing at home). Ironically enough even though he was not very bright he was a demolisions expert.
The Torch Mask was probably the most menacing looking mask in the series. It definitely screamed bad guy. With a shout of,"Torch On." a flame thrower type blast incinerated anything in sight.

Expertise: VENOM Demolisions Expert, Strong Arm
Mask Power: Flame Thrower, Torch
Toy
The scale is about perfect for the Jackhammer. Both the driver door and passanger door open and can each fit a figure comfortably. Other then the front grill and tires there is not much chrome.
Push down the back fender which pops the turret into place. Lifting the fin exposes the lasers in the turret. You will notice after the tuuret lifts there is a small machine gun that is placed above. Push the hood over the windshield and the bottom guns are exposed. When you roll the Jackhammer those guns act as if they are firing. You are now ready to take on the Rhino.........Good Luck!
When looking for a Jackhammer for your collection keep these things in mind.
1. Make sure the front grill stays up when in SUV mode.
2. Make sure the small gun is there. It can sometimes fall into the turret compartment so give it a shake to see if you can here it.
3. Does the front gun work when you roll the truck?
4. Make sure the Turret pops up when the back bumper is pressed.
5. On the bottom rear it should be marked with a 1986 date from the Kenner Company.
6. The driver is Cliff Dagger (as pictured above.) There were 2 styles of the Torch Mask
The Jackhammer can be bought in good condition for around $25.00 right now on Ebay. I have seen it go anywhere from $15.00 to $40.00.
The Jackhammer has to be in a good collection. Well, it just has to.
