Vehicle Codename: HURRICANE

Anyone remember the NIGHT STALKER? That was the original toon name for the HURRICANE. A classic 57’ Chevy, one of the most under-rated muscle cars of all times, transformed into a Field Command Post.

High rise hydraulics enables the HURRICANE to pretty much go anywhere. Its defense systems include Terror Spare land mine, Headlight lasers, rear saw blade, and turret with armored body shield. It is also equipped with a front radar system.

Next to Matt Tracker there is only one agent that screams Heroism. His name is Hondo MacLean. Hondo is the top field Lt. in the M.A.S.K. organization. He is also the tough guy of the team. Behind that no nonsense exterior is a man with a heart of gold.
Hondo MacLean was one of the original agents. People might remember him driving the FIRECRACKER pick-up. After a daring rescue of Scott Tracker Hondo lost his orange truck and almost his life. He was later presented with the HURRICANE.
Expertise: M.A.S.K. field LT., Enforcer

The first thing one will notice about the HURRICANE is the lack of side doors. The figure is placed in the drivers seat from the top hatch. This minor detail does in no way hamper the feel of this 57’ classic hardtop. Just like its real counterpart it is a very sturdy vehicle.
A simple twist of the top begins the transformation process by raising the chassis and lowering the center axle. Lifting the top hatch and flipping up the dual cannon releases the main gun. Each headlight needs to be pulled out and the front bumper raises to reveal the radar. The final task is to pull the rear saw blade out. Pushing down on the rear bumper shoots the Terror Spare.
When looking for a HURRICANE for your collection keep these things in mind.
1. The windows are painted instead of clear plastic. Look for scratches.
2. When turning the top does the car spring up without help
3. Make sure the radar front stays up on its own.
4. There is a good amount of chrome on this one. Make sure it is clean.
5. On the bottom rear it should be marked with a 1986 date from the Kenner Company.
6. The driver is Hondo MacLean (as pictured above.)
The Hurricane can be bought in good condition for around $25.00 right now on Ebay. I have seen it go anywhere from $15.00 to $40.00.
If you are in to M.A.S.K. because of the alt modes you NEED the HURRICANE! The 57’ was the car of a generation. You can’t go wrong with one in your collection.
