Little guy with an attitude.
From the beginning, Cliffjumper established himself as the brave little Autobot that he is. He and Hound were sent out on a recon mission shortly after the Decepticons and Autobots awoke from their long slumber. Not too long after they find Megatron, Cliffjumper manages to pull out a gun that is just as big as he is. I have no idea how he managed to do it, but it is obvious that he means business. He is featured as the no-nonsense 'bot throughout the series and plays a solid side role throughout seasons 1 & 2, and he even manages to survive the movie.
Cliffjumper was voiced by Casey Kasem. This voice actor played some pretty significant roles during his tenure as a Transformers voice artist. Unfortunately, a character by the name of Abdul Fakkadi appeared in the TV series which Kasem felt misrepresented his culture. (Casey Kasem is of Arabic decent). I believe the episode was the Five Faces of Darkness Part 1 - but I haven't confirmed it. When Kasem left the series, Bluestreak, Cliffjumper, and most notably Teletran 1 officially lost their voices. In my mind this was catastrophic as not only was Cliffjumper a major player in the series....but this meant Teletran 1 would have to have its fate sealed. Thus, Trypticon destroys the Autobot volcano at the end of Five Faces of Darkness & THE landmark of the entire series of Transformers (Ark w/ Teletran 1) is destroyed.

I never had a Cliffjumper when I was younger. He is very similar to Bumblebee in his transformation. Like Bumblebee, he also had a few paint variants issued.

Toy Facts:
Being a minibot, Cliffjumper is a rather simple Transformer. He ranks somewhat mid-high in terms of transformation originality. The legs come out from the main body, the arms pull out and the head flips up. This transformation actually results in a minibot Transformer that is larger than his alternate mode. This is due to the hidden parts that are pulled out during his transformation. He has a little bit of chrome on the back of his car/head and on the wheels. Cliffjumper even contains metal. It is located on his back and acts as somewhat of an anchor for all of the plastic parts to be screwed into.

Disappointments
This is normally where I say "this minibots head/face was very inaccurate to the toon." Actually, Cliffjumper's face was dead on. Very nice & especially so for a minibot. He suffers the same arm fate as Bumblebee - they tend to fall off with wear. The head plate can become loose and fall down while in alt mode (and sometimes even robot mode). Legs could also be loose. If you go ebay on Cliffjumper or Bumblebee, you may want to do some extra "ask seller a question" maneuvers.

Collecting Cliffjumper:
Obviously, you want to make sure his arms stay on during transformation. Check for loose joints. Check for rust on the hubcaps. Make sure you can stand him up. He should have two stickers – one behind his head and the other on the roof of the car (Autobot faction symbol in either rubsign or non-rubsign form)
Cliffjumper did not have a G2 reissue.
He has no accessories.
Cliffjumper is a must own & in my opinion...belongs right next to Hound in your collection.
