Okay here is a deep one -
We have one more to go. Tell me which movie is your favorite any why. Don't just say "because it was cool."
Give reasons why via action, drama, characters, etc. Type for a bit! We all don't do that enough here! (Save maybe the Starcrossed thread in the D.C. Section)

*takes a deep breath, wiggles fingers, and cracks knuckles* I have to say 6, for many reasons (and because it was cool! Ahem, sorry). Mostly, I loved how Luke came into his own. Instead of being kind of the confused newbie in 4 or just generally having a cruddy time of it in 5, he's confident, competent, and very mature. Instead of looking to Leia or Han for guidance, he's the one saving them and giving them advice. He's become a very skillful Jedi. I noticed yesterday watching RotJ again that Luke takes out approximately 17 guys during that whole Jabba's sail barge scene, and he orchestrates the whole thing. He basically pulled it off all by himself. Lando took out one guy, but just about died and consequently was a little busy, Chewie was occupied keeping Han alive, and Han only knocked out Boba Fett accidentally after Luke had already taken him down a notch. Then on Endor Luke takes out 3 speeder bikers to Leia's 1, which was accidental and got her knocked out. He wisely leaves the group when he finds that he's a liability, and goes into the mouth of hell, so to speak, after his dad. Even when it seems that he is about to die, he doesn't give in to the Emperor. He would rather die than turn, and his last appeal to Vader turns him back to the light side as well. In general, he done good. Aside from the cool Luke factor, there's some great humor in 6 and of course an excellent plot. The throne room duel is fantastic, and in terms of effects the space battle of Endor was incredible. I thought the character development for everyone else was good too, even for the Emperor. For some reason I love that part where the Emperor is telling Vader that Luke "will come to you, and you will bring me before me." His annoyed tone of voice sounds so much like, "For Pete's sake, do I have to dot every i and cross every t for you?!" There are just so many cool little scenes...when Leia's shot, but shoots the trooper behind Han anyway, when Chewie swings on the vine Tarzan-style up to the AT-ST, Yoda's great lines and the way Luke tucks him in like a little kid, C3PO's scolding Artoo ("And you said it was pretty here!"), and a million other things. I could go on for ages. And the best thing is that as cool as 6 is, 4 and 5 are also awesome. It's like one long story; hard to break it up into 3 pieces. ^ I think that constitutes typing for a bit. ![](http://img8.photobucket.com/albums/v28/gunman_sr5/bouncers.gif)

For some reason I love that part where the Emperor is telling Vader that Luke "will come to you, and you will bring me before me." His annoyed tone of voice sounds so much like, "For Pete's sake, do I have to dot every i and cross every t for you?!" "Your overconfidence is your weakness." Return of the Jedi has been my favorite since I first saw it when I was little. Starfilly, you used the term "orchestrates" when referring to Luke's battle at the Sarlacc pit. I couldn't agree more. It goes beyond just Luke too - props go to Richard Marquand (director) and the editing team for putting an incredible fight scene together. While the entire thing is absolute chaos, Luke is in control the whole time. If you notice, there are two moments where we see Luke gaze in one direction where trouble looms & then grit his teeth and head in that same direction. I think the phrase that best describes Luke in this scene is, "You know what you were doing when you got up this morning." He had everything planned from the moment the droids arrived (I loved how he kept C3PO in the dark about it all) & carried it out. The battle scene and demise of Jabba is one of my favorite scenes. The Endor/Death Star/Luke vs Vader part at the end is awesome too. I could go on about it, but I do not have too many things that are ultra deep to reflect on. Some people knock the movie a bit because of the Ewoks. They really don't bother me much & I think the "never a dull moment" feel that ROTJ has really carries it. Reflecting on that - A favorite transition of mine is Han's lines: "Chewy! Get down here! She's wounded! .....no wait!" <looks at Leia> "I got an idea" <lightsabers clash> & we are into the Luke/Vader battle. All sorts of things like that & John Williams ices the cake like usual.

![](http://img44.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TTC_Forum/op.gif) For me this is an easy question. I love all 5 movies(yes even Phantom Menace, Jar Jar and all) But my favoriate of all time is A New Hope. For much the same reason as the 84 bunch in TFs. It is what started it all. I was hooked ever since the open seen with the Star Destroyer was chasing down the Rebelblockade runner. The rest is history. ![](http://img44.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TTC_Forum/usa.gif)
