I was just wondering how exactly photobucket works. I want to make a sig pic for myself. Do you basically just sign up, find a pic on the net, then use the address to post it here? Is there anything else I should know? I've looked at their website, I just wanted some advice from some experts. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

The easiest way to use photobucket is to save a copy of whatever you are wanting to use to your computer and then upload it to your photobucket account. Signing up for an account is free. Just be aware of any copyrighted materials that you upload and where you use them.
When you have an image uploaded photobucket produces three different types of code that can be used to access the image. You copy and paste the right code to where you are wanting to use it, and that's pretty much it. On this board we use the "url" for Icons, the "img" for sigs and individual posts.

I made an account and found myself a new avatar, as you can see.. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) How do you know what is and is not copyrighted? I guess it would just say on the site, right? I'm pretty sure the one I have is ok... now to start on a sig...um, help? ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) How do you make one? Sorry for all the questions, like I've said, I don't know much about computers...

Sup, D.
I use Photoshop to do my signatures. If you are talking about applications to use, there are quite a few. Others besides photoshop - Paint (hey - it's free & already there), Corel Draw, and Paint Shop Pro. There are plenty - but it depends on several things. Mostly either 1: How much do you want to spend or 2: "To be legal or not to be legal"
Now if you are talking about the actual design and creation of a signature -
Pick a theme. You can download images to use for the theme of your sig. You can also create them from scratch of course.
Choose a size. I picked a size for my first main message board sig & have pretty much stuck with that size w/ few re-sizes here and there over the years. I would say choose your size based on other signature sizes. Getting too big can be annoying for people who run in small resolutions.
Put it together. Do you want a background in the sig? Is it a collage? Cut, crop, resize all your stuff & slap it on there. You can put your name on there (as it is a "sig") and spruce it up a bit. Have fun with it.
