All info found at 2005 in this thread. Kind of a mixed blessing since when I left the company the list was at 207+ stores, but yesterday 73 stores had meetings where they were told there stores will be closing as of March 8th. Liquidation signs went up at those stores today. I only know a few specific stores as no one I know has access to the full list (Maybe Junior can access it?) But confirmed closings (where I knew people or where I've seen people from those stores post about it) are: Phoenix AZ Fairfield CA Emeryville CA Vallejo CA Mira Mesa CA Woodbury MN Duluth MN Bridgeton, MO Dorchester, Mass Cambridge, Mass Medford, Mass Levittown, NY Commack, NY Freeport, NY Charleston, SC Columbia, SC Holyoke, Mass W Kellogg, KA Owensboro, Ky Tampa (Dale Mabry) Florida Chicago (Lafayette St.) IL Arlington Heights, IL Lansing, IL Bourbonnais, IL Michigan City, Ind Indianapolis, Indiana Columbus, OH Levittown, NY West Ashley (Charleston), SC Bridgeton (St. Louis), MO Dorchester, MA Cambridge, MA Medford, MA Wichita, KS Nashville TN Memphis (Johnson City), TN Wheaton, MD Tysons Corner. VA Grand Junction, CO Cincinnati, OH (Near Tri-County Mall) Houston, TX (Greenspoint) Brownsville, TX Victoria, TX Macon, GA

None too close to me, but I can't say I shop at tru much anyway. I think last year I spent less than $50 there; they never have new stuff as fast as target and wm, plus it's more expensive. Don't get me wrong, I hate to see the store close bc I know other collectors find stuff there and the store gives me a nice nostalgic feeling, but, in the end, trus closing won't effect me much.

Well, fortunately the TRU that I consider mine is not closing.
I worked at Toys R Us during the summer of my early college days. The store where I worked was the same Toys R Us I grew up with as a child.
The fact that there can be a store that is of that size and is completely dedicated to toys is one of the coolest things. I only wish things weren't going in this direction for them right now.
I can't help but think that this could have been avoided if that horrible abomination known as Walmart didn't exist.

I have no idea how, but mine has once again avoided the list. I have the worst TRU ever. We still have Energon and and first wave TMNT for gods sake.
