movies.yahoo.com/feature/thedukesofhazzard.html ![](http://img8.photobucket.com/albums/v28/gunman_sr5/puke.gif) UGH! Not going to see this one. I never expected to see the Duke boys turn into frat wanna bes. Plus ... Jessica Simpson as Daisy - no thank you. Never been a fan, never will be. Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse - workable, but its not the same with a skinny Jesse. Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg - uh, no. He just does NOT look the part in any way. And to top it off, while "the sherrif" is mentioned, the trailer doesn't name him Roscoe. No Roscoe, no Flash - no fun!

I've had serious doubts about this one ever since I heard Jessica Simpson would be daisy. I might check it out anyway (rental), but right now I don't have very high hopes. There are too many remakes out there anyway: there's a Honeymooners remake starring cedrice the entertainer coming out, a herbie movie starring linsey lohan, and w/ all the others in the past few years, it's just overkill...esp. when they're crappy.

Heck yeah, I am going to see it. Me and a buddy at work have been waiting on this one a long time. If you want all the original stuff, go get the TV box sets. Things obviously had to be changed from the original - first off, the original actors certainly can't play the characters again (plus...a few have died anyway), but most importantly - the TV show ushered in 80s cheese. (Wow - back to back cheese posts for me) There is no way that same sort of formula would work today & certainly not in a big screen feature. Things obviously have to be changed. Roscoe is in the movie - he is listed in the cast. There is no sense saying you guys are not going to see this movie, because face it - you are. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) (Just like Transformers regardless of what happens) Plus - how often in your life are you going to be able to see the General Lee on the big screen?

tsk tsk tsk. No love for the Dukes. ![](http://img44.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TTC_Forum/op.gif) There is plenty of love for the Dukes. But not this mess. It's G1 Dukes all the way! ![](http://img44.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TTC_Forum/usa.gif)

They could pull it off as a comedy - it isn't a teen movie. Don't put the actors into that type cast only because they have appeared in other "teen movies."
It is billed as a action/adventure/comedy as it should be. It looks like it will have plenty of comedy, but I definitely want the action adventure to stand out the most. (Kinda like Back to the Future 1/2/3)
The trailer can't really say a whole lot anyway - give the movie a chance. I think you guys are jumping to conclusions waaaay too quickly without having seen the film.

Whether it comes across as a teen movie or not...they are projecting their biggest competition is going to be the new Herbie release that opens that weekend, so they are anticipating a battle....in fact, either Herbie moved up its release date or the Dukes did, but either way they are now being released the same weekend...
I will skip Lindsay, although I love "Herbie" movies, I think I am leaning twowards the Dukes for that weekend! I think it does have the potential to come across as a teen movie with the cast that is in there....none of them have done anything in a really serious role...with the exception if Willie nelson and Burt Reynolds. I am hoping for the more action adventure/comedy thing though...I guess we will see when they get the trailers out there...
