Subject really says it all; which actor did you really believe captured what you thought a certain super villain should be like? I'm still thinking myself..

I have not voted yet because it is a toss up between Jack Nicholson as Joker and Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor.

Forgot to add Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus; I thought he was really good. I think I'm gonna go w/ Jack Nicholson as the Joker for my answer.

Hands down, Nicholson. So far the best comic movie villain ever. He played that perfect mix of serious and insane to come off as dangerously whacked.
Defoe was a close second. For him I think it was more the face - he had just the perfect expressions for playing Osbourne. An excellent match.
Gene Hackman will always be Luthor, but unfortunately it came off as a little more comic than dramatic at the end of his movies. He did play well against Reeves, though.
Ian McKellan did a great job as Magneto, but the role itself wasn't that spectacular. It was more of "hey, its Magneto" over "I'm the most dangerous mutant and here's why". Same as Stewart, it was a role that could have been played at any time, and won't have any long-reaching impact.
I was never a fan of Batman Returns. The Penguin and Catwoman were just too dark for my tastes.

I think Ian McKlellan fit every expectation I had for Maneto.

I think Jack Nicholson did the best job for a movie Super villain. The Joker was another classic performance. I loved his wacky demeanor!
