His body (at least in this shot) doesn't really seem to have a "Superman" like look to it.

Doesn't look to bad in my opinion. Check out todays Shortpacked for a joke about this as well.

The costume is OK - not great, but much better than it could have been. At least they abandoned the rumored Energy (or Red and Blue) Supes storylines .....
This new guy has the right hair, but his face isn't right somehow. It doesn't scream BOY SCOUT like Christopher Reeves.
And as for Lex .... Gene Hackman will ALWAYS be the movie Luthor.

I agree that would make better sense. I wish they could use the Smallville people.

The problem with that is that read that Tom Welling does not want to play Superman on the big screen.

I wish they could use the Smallville people. Uh, no. Not after the way they have screwed with the traditional Superman story. I mean, Clark, Lana, Lex and Lois ALL in Smallville before Clark is even out of high school? All that's missing is little boy Olsen and Old Man White to complete the set ..... About the only thing on the show I do like was the ep that featured Christopher Reeves. That was a well-deserved touch. Now if only they'd get the hint and put Adam West in a new Batman movie ...... He's already been in the current animated universe.

Well - the words comics and continuity don't really mix well.
I think the only canon as far as superman goes can be summed up in just a few terms (not even sentences):
"Superman, Clark Kent, Lex Luthor, Daily Planet, Lois Lane"
There are a few others, but if you do a show/movie/comic with those...you're fine. No sense appealing to the die hards when Superman is such a cultural icon in society.
