A Movie review- by Darthfather
You guys have to help me out, and tell me if this sounds familiar;
A Daring Young “Princess” is trying to evade the Dark Lord because she has the one thing that will help the “rebels” in their fight against the Emperor. A Dragon Egg (Death Star Plans). She ends up sending them to a Blonde Hair Farm Boy, but she is captured by the Dark Lord, who keeps asking her were she sent the egg. The Dark Lord has mysterious powers, very similar to the force, and sends his soldiers to find the Dragon Egg. Did I mention The Dark Lord Works for an evil Emperor who killed all the Dragon Riders? (Jedi’s)
The Young Farm Boy dreams of adventure, I kid you not, the same scene where Luke looks on in the distance while the sun is setting, is in this movie as Eragon looks on in the distance one evening (dreaming on what out is out there). The Farm boy lives with his uncle, who gets killed by Stormtroopers…I mean evil Orks. But an old Wizard comes along and helps the young farm boy. It ends up that the farm boy is (shock) the last Jedi…I mean Dragon Rider. The “Wizard” (a former Dragon Rider) teaches the Young boy the ways of becoming a Dragon Rider, and teaches him that he has “Magic Powers” (AKA the Force). The Old Wizard even ends up giving the boy a Dragon Sword.
The Farm boy mounts a rescue of the Princess, (held in the Death Star) and gets help from a Dashing young Rogue with black hair, and the old Wizard gives his life so they can escape. Then the Young Farm Boy uses his Dragon (X-Wing Fighter) to save the Day, and help the Rebels when the big Battle at the end of the movie.
The Kid who wrote this book, I think he was like 16 or something, must have had some very familiar Influences, Star Wars, with a little Lord of the Rings mixed in. It was not a bad movie per say, just very formulaic. The one thing I did like was it was only an Hour and a Half, unlike most movies now days, it was just the right length.
