Coming up at the end of July Mattel will be debuting a collectors line of Masters of the Universe figures at SDCC. They will pay more homage to the classic line then the recent debacle.
At first they were saying how they had retail support and it would be geared more toward DCUC then toward kids. The first wave would be the original 8 figures (He-man, Man-at-Arms, Teela, Stratos, Skeletor, Beastman, Mer-man, and Zodac). Now they are saying it will be a line only available on a new Mattel shop at home web-site with 1 character available every month.
I guess we can only wait for SDCC to find out. I can only believe the Mattel will screw up distribution again. For the more of the story check out He-man.org.

I am right there with you! Hoping for the best, but fearing the worst, since it is Mattel.

I actually like the theory behind the line. Apparently they like what Hasbro has been doing with GI Joe and Transformers Classics giving original designs better sculpts and articulation.
Some things that the MOTU classics line will have in common with the originals are using same body parts. For example the original Beastman and Stratos were the same other then theirs heads and accessories. The same will be said for the new classics. I know some will hate that, but I love nostalgia when it comes to toys now a days.

I had a dream I was buying He-Man again. Is this a sign? Did my subconscious make the decision for me to jump into the pool of Eternia once more? We'll see...
