OK here is what I hate about being a collector. Hollidays... I give out ideas for Christmas, but then I see what I want to get, and know it will possibly be hard to get after the holidays. So I kinda like to know ahead of time if I need to get something or if I will get it. Spoils the holidays a bit... Anyone else effected by this?

I know exactly what you mean. 2 years ago Mrs. Bear put a 1 month before Christmas hold on me from buying anything new. It is so hard to go to a store and see something you want/need and having to pass it up. Not only that, but Mrs. Bear is a last minute shopper so I am always afraid that selection will be down.
In the end though she always has come through like a champ.

Dude, I thought I was the only one. Then you have to "wait and see" if you will get what you want. Then if they drop the ball and don't get the right piece you missed out on it all together. Here is what I have done:
I buy the stuff myself and have family members reimburse me. It works REALLY WELL. Espacially for my wife. Sure, the suprise is gone, but you can still collect in the holidays, and you get stuff you really want. Does this sound bad???I'm really not a greedy person....okay I am...
