The great Jane Wyatt, who played the Earth woman Amanda Grayson - wife of Sarek, mother of Spock – in the “Star Trek” TV episode “Journey to Babel” and the movie “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home,” has passed away.
She’s the one who asked the newly resurrected Spock how he was feeling.
She also played female lead Sondra Bizet in Frank Capra's 1937 adventure fantasy "Lost Horizon," one of the greatest movies in the history of history.
She's better known to a generation of TV viewers as the female lead on “Father Knows Best,” a show so popular its reruns ran in primetime for three years after it ceased production in 1960.
She also had a recurring role as Katherine Auschlander on one of my all-time favorite shows, “St. Elsewhere,” appearing in six episodes between 1983 and 1988.
Father Geek or one of the other editors on the movie side of AICN may or may not have something to add about her lengthy film career, which launched with 1934’s “One More River” and concluded with 1986’s “Star Trek IV.”
Story from AICN.
