From Startrek.com: Michael Piller, best known to television viewers around the world as the executive producer/co-creator of more than 500 hours of Star Trek, lost his long battle with an aggressive form of head & neck cancer on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at 4:51 a.m. at his home in Los Angeles. He was 57. He is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Brent and son Shawn. See: www.startrek.com/startrek/view/news/article/14414.htmlGeez guys - looks like most of our Star Trek talk over the last half year has been obituaries

That sucks. He was one of the top men behind all of my favorite episodes of TNG and DS9.

This is sad news. He put a lot of work into Star Trek. His family will be in my thoughts.
Star Trek has always been my favorite show But it seems like nothing good has happened to the world of trek in the past year.
