OK I went into Walmart to get a can of clear for this 65 Mustang Fastback I am working on. I have it painted and some details done to it. All I needed was more clear to finish the body to be able to concentrate on the rest. I go to check out and it won't scan. Automotive wouldn't answer the phone for a price check. So I stood there for 10 min waiting for a price. OK thats over with. Fast forward to home. I get everything preped to shoot the clear. First up to shoot is the hood. Nice coat of mid red pearl. Wetsanded to perfection. I shoot it expecting a real nice shine right off the bat. BLACK I now have ruined what I was working so hard to get done because of some... (Well I will hold back online) switshed the caps. Now I have hit a total setback in the project. I was hopeing I could have it ready to do full assymblt tomorow so I could leave Friday night to go home, but now I have to wait until I get back to resand the hood and start from scratch. I know I could just go ahead and finish all but the hood and get another can of clear, but I am to torqued off to deal with it right now. Oh well... Thanks for letting me vent guys.

That sucks...I would take that back to Wal-Mart and see if you can get some sort of compensation. That is just wrong after all your hard work!

Someone switched the caps, its still the store's responsibility to make sure you are getting what you paid for. Especially when its something like that where you can't know you've been had until you use the product.

![](http://img44.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TTC_Forum/op.gif) Dude gunman that sucks bad. But here is a tip for you from back in my modle car building days. Get some Westly's White Wall Bleach from the car cleaning department. Soak the hood or what ever other modle piece you need to strip the paint from. Let it sit for several hours, but it's best if you let it do it overnight. Then get an old toothbrush, go to the sink and scrub the old paint off. It stripps it down to the plastic. It will not hurt the plastic. It might take another soaking. Then wash it off and then BAMO good as new. ;D This saves all the sanding and loosing detail in the plastic. The only bad thing is that stuff is a little rough on the hands. But it works. Hope it helps. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I think some patience and some wet sanding I can get the black paint off and not have to reshoot the red. No point in going all the way backwards.
