Hey everyone. Well - I was digging through the padre's attic & found some cool stuff this weekend. One of which was a Lamborghini LP500S model kit from the eighties. I was a pretty decent model builder back when I was eight...however I didn't have the best tools. Painting was mostly done with paint pens instead of brushes & accuracy was hard. As a matter of fact, I wanted a red car when I painted this - but without the proper paints (or any primers) - it almost came out pink! This project will involve stripping this kit back down to the parts, stripping paint, repainting, and regluing it back together. In the end, I hope to have a 1/24 scale Sideswipe. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TTC_Forum/sideswipe1.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TTC_Forum/sideswipe2.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TTC_Forum/sideswipe3.jpg)

I haven't updated on this one in a while, but here is the deal - The paint on this car has been on for about 17 years. It is taking a very long time to clean the paint off. I have to let it soak overnight and then use a sponge the next day. This is after a week's worth of work: ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TTC_Forum/sideswipeeo.jpg) The plastic is stained with the color, and that is fine. As soon as I know I have all of the "thick" paint off of it which would cause a difference in thickness of the new paint job, I can go ahead and prime and paint this one the new color. Until then....the chemical warfare for removing paint continues.

2 words. Goo gone. Then final clean up with isoprople alcohol. Goo gone is a cool product, but there is no way that it will strip this paint off - all that work comes from using Easy Off oven cleaner. I have to wear gloves and hold my breath while trying to get that paint off. Haha. ![](http://img8.photobucket.com/albums/v28/gunman_sr5/lol.gif)

Ugh.. Isn't that a bit rough on the plastic?

Ugh.. Isn't that a bit rough on the plastic? It's pretty sweet - I had a model-making dude recommend it to me. The latest issue of scale auto also recommends it. It is a killer for paint, but it leaves the polystyrene plastic virtually untouched. (However...it can eat through human hands. Doh!)

Yikes, to think I use it without the gloves when I do the oven... Hasn't done anything. Yet...

Eeeeeee. Well -
It's a cholinesterase inhibitor. Stops the brain from sending nerve messages down the spinal cord within thirty seconds. Any epidermal exposure or inhalation and you'll know. A twinge at the small of your back as the poison seizes your nervous system - your muscles freeze, you can't breathe, and you spasm so hard you break your own back and spit your guts out. But this is after your skin melts off.
....I'd wear gloves, man.

I am still not sticking that thing into my heart though.

Haven't touched it since the last update. Hahaha.
General Lee was in front...I took a break from model work...and then I put together that Gundam about a month ago that was like 650+ pieces. I am on break again. Haha.
