I remember seeing the announcement for that whenever it was I first read it and my immediate thought was "I should post this on ES so Jeremy can buy it. heh heh heh." (Yeah. I know. I am evil.)
But then I looked at the price and was like "no way! No freakin' way I can try to talk someone into buying this."
Samus' ship quite honestly - is not all that. It's a simple design derived from her helmet (obviously). For something so simple in design, it is tough to talk yourself into spending $240.00 no matter how big it is - and this coming from a guy that buys statues!
This is definitely something one would need to see in person. The "good traits" it has going for it are: 1: 50 LEDs 2: 14 lbs.
I use these few lines from the movie Jurassic Park often - "Is it heavy?" "Yes." "Then its expensive. Put it down."
The official website has much better pictures of the ship. The lights really add a lot, and I bet it looks 3x as good in person. Still - the design is rather simple. I am not sure if seeing it "in person" would talk me into forking over the money or not.
It's limited to 750 pieces. So the question becomes are there 750 Metroid fans willing to spend $250+ for it? If the answer is yes, then also consider - can you get one cheaper a year or two after its initial release?
...I bet it would look even cooler with a Samus statue standing in front of it!! (.....okay. I'll stop.)

I wish it was more affordable. I would probably get this and a Samus statue.

Okay - let's play what if.
If you got the ship, which Samus statue would you have paired with it? Varia suit, Gravity suit or Zero suit?

Check out First Four FiguresI have to hand it to them - they actually have REALLY good photography of all of these items. 360 degree views, different lighting, it's great. The ship page is awesome. That said, I have to have a bit of fun and get some good old pics in this thread. ![](http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b40/estation/varia2.jpg) ![](http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b40/estation/gravity1.jpg) ![](http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b40/estation/zero1.jpg)

Toss up of Varia and Zero. Leaning more toward Varia. Now Zero suit would go with the Corruption gunship. Unless they do a fully corrupted PED.

Wow, those figurines look NICE!!! I might pick one or two of those up if they're not too expensive. It's too bad they're not action figures though. If that Varia suit figure was super-poseable, it would be one of the coolest toys ever!
The ship statue doesn't impress me though. I'd rather have an actual toy of her spaceship that I can put my old Samus figure inside.
