I recently bought the D&D animated series on DVD. After watching Disk 1 I have really come to appreciate the story telling involved. The plots are sound and the main characters really are well developed.
My question is are there any shows you remember as a kid that when you see it today you have a whole new appreciation for? Take my above example, as a kid I was just into the monsters and the action and never paid attention to the story.

I was actually surprised to see some of the humor in Filmation Ghostbusters. The show was made to have practically nothing taken seriously (except the moral lesson at the end) - even the main villain makes jokes every so often. I haven't watched the whole set yet, but Bob Forward (of 80s MOTU and Beast Wars fame) did one of the episodes & it was enjoyable. I don't think he has credit for it on imdb. Maybe I should get to work on that Filmation Ghostbusters page.....
Anyway - I knew I wanted the set (and you knew it too, Bear) - but I was surprised at how entertaining some of the episodes were after I started watching. And the creativity of the artwork and the characters is quite something.
