So what are you votes for the most screwed up line in toy history. Give reasons whether it be lack of playability or poor production runs or what have you.
I would have to say Gargoyles. The toyline really lacked a lot. it ran 3 seasons and other then the original Gargoyles all we got were only 5 different characters.

Man. What a tough question. I have several.
From my standpoint, I think the new He-Man was handled in such a way that it seemed like Mattel wanted the line to fail. That was hard to swallow.
Then there is Harry Potter. A toy line that saw practically no success. Should it have? I don't know. You are releasing toys based on a movie intended for junior high/high school+ ages and releasing action figures for it. Collectible market? Possibly. However - the second series had less than half the variety of the first series & Prisoner of Azkaban had like....8 figures total. 7 of those figures were....Harry Potter himself. I don't think they even made figures for Goblet, but I might be wrong.
I am certain there are more, but I will have to wait until I think of them.

Transformers Action Masters. No explanation needed.

Why? Because they didn't transform? Did the line not sell well because of this? (I have never seen any sales figures - I would have to guess it just didn't)

so which one (Action Masters or Pretenders) would be considered as Transformers "Jumping the shark" moment?

I don't mind Pretenders. There was still a Transformer under the shell. Action Masters where more statues with something transformable with them. So Action Masters is where I draw the line.

This is the first time I have seen action masters. Are they articulated? I would think as a kid I would have loved them due to the cartoon likeness.

Yes. They are articulated. Hasbro wanted to do a sub-line with Transformers that might capture the success that another line had - G.I. Joe.
Each figure has at least 8 points of articulation.

They don't look bad at all, but I would rather have a Transformer. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

I have another. Not revamping the MASK line and bringing it back.
