We're always talking about new lines we're picking up, by what lines have you stopped collecting, or have drastically reduced collecting? Here's my list: Gijoe: this and tfs was what got me into collecting, but I haven't bought a pack in a year or so. Gundam model kits/SD Gundam: again, something that got me into collecting, but they're not in US retail stores anymore (the model kits) and I'm not really into the show, so...Some of the SDs look really cool though. Xevoz: I'd probably still be collecting these if I could find them and the line wasn't near death.

Well, there are a few lines that I have more than one "tribute" to, but I have to say that I have practically stopped cold on Star Wars and McFarlane Sportspicks. Thundercats are down as well - but there aren't many of them in the first place.
I will pick up on occassional SW figure & will probably continue to get Houston-based Sportspicks - but otherwise those lines went from "buy a lot" to "buy practically none at all."
D.C. stuff is on hiatus & He-Man is down a bit. Transformers is the only thing that is constant, and I keep an eye out for Filmation Ghostbusters stuff. Ghostbusters is my "niche" collection - not a whole lot of people go after it.
Destro - good topic. Do you have pics of your gundam kits? I am considering doing some of those & eventually doing one of the "perfect" ones after I have logged a lot of modeling time.
Did you paint them too?

Great Topic Destro! This one is perfect for me right now.
My collecting habits have always changed often until the last few months. I have had a main focus on Transformers G1. I don't know if any of you remember the live the 40fan thread or not. I am also still going with MASK and I like the occasional Battle Beast. TMNT have a big showing in my collection as well.
Energon, or anything new Transformers, have stopped all together. My wallet tells me thanks every day. I can't beleive how many new things I have passed up without second thought.
XEVOZ which had potential I don't waste my time with anymore.
MOTU has been sold off. Same with GI Joe. Armies of Middle Earth is headed down the same road.
Star Wars has a limited place in my collection. I only get items from the Rebels and Imperials of the original trilogy, Jabba's guys, ewoks, and Wookies.
I do pick up a few smaller toy lines now. Like Pirates of the Carrabian from NECA. I am also on the hunt for the Playmates Darkwing Duck and Tail Spin lines.

Did you paint them too? Thanks, glad ya like it. I don't have any pics of them (no digital camera). I didn't paint them; I didn't feel like spending the money, and I'm not much of a painter anyway. To add to my first post, I think I stopped collecting gijoe bc I didn't like many of the new molds, which seems to be a problem w/ a number of adult collectors. However, I seem to be one of the few who sees potential in the new Sigma Six line; the only thing I worry about is the price.

Man, Bear - I have no idea how you sold off MOTU. Seems to me that once those figures sway somebody to buy them, that person has been absorbed into Eternia itself.

She was kind of the straw that broke the camels back. I even had snake men waves, but that one figure torked me off to no end. In my oppinion Mattel killed the line by trying to make it to Mcfarlenesque instead of a toy line.

In my oppinion Mattel killed the line by trying to make it to Mcfarlenesque instead of a toy line. You mean the lack of articulation? See I don't really see articulation as a big thing - I think it detracts from the look of the figure. It didn't affect us when we were young because we just didn't have it. (Save for maybe G.I. Joe) Of the kids that actually still want toys...I would say that they don't really care about articulation. It is obvious that mattel did kill the line, however I believe that the figures they made were still very impressive - don't you? (Well I guess so, right? You collected them at one point. ;D ) Destro - which kits did you get? I think there must be 5 million gundam kits out there.

Word of warning on the Gundam "Perfect" models (if it is the line that I am thinking of) - They are HUGE, and you have to contruct the interior skeleton before putting the exterior on ....

I don't consider that a word of warning - I consider it fun. The whole point to model kits is building. The finished project is just the icing on the cake. Have you put a perfect one together? I think they all are like that though - you have to build the skeleton and all.

Haven't done one, but I remember seeing the Gundam Wing Wing Zero Custom perfect model at a store once (now out of business). It had over 1000 pieces (most very small), and cost about $300 (it was imported).

You collected them at one point. ;D ) I think of Marvel Legend everytime I hear that. The multiple points of articulation really detracts the look of the figures.... As for collecting Ive slimmed down my want list, Im not getting that much of G1, once I get some Energons Im still missing Ill be fine, for TMNT I havent gotten any new figure since 2003, same for Batman, MOTU is dead, so im not getting any more figures, So right now its leftovers of Batman, JL and TF. Im trying to get ready for Justice League Unlimited which Ill be collecting in a full range.

I did not collect much out side of Transformers, but the few other odd items like Star Wars, Star Trek and GI Joe that I did buy I have since stopped. I have also stopped collecting Energon and Armada. In fact I only buy G1 and Alternators, but even this has slowed way down. I have even considered ending my collecting for good.

Wow, it would be a radical decision to do.

Destro - which kits did you get? I think there must be 5 million gundam kits out there. The kits I bought were the cheap ones that wm used to carry: between $7 and $20. They were really easy to put together and didn't require paint. Like I said earlier, I have neither the cash nor the skill for the more expensive, detailed ones. I don't rememeber many of the names besides wing gundam, wing gundam zero custom, heavyarms, deathsythe custom, nataku custom, tallgeese...
