Hey everyone - over the past few weeks, I have been acquiring Robotech-related items like mad. I can't quite put my finger on what got everything started. I think it had something to do with my time I have set aside to watch the entire series over a couple of months (85 episodes).
I have been into Robotech since high school - and that was before I really started collecting toys. (Or rather - I was "inbetween" collecting) I had seen episodes long before that, but I hadn't really seen enough (or paid enough attention) to latch on. The cool thing about Robotech is that with the exception of some of the collectors mecha and various old pieces of mecha, the action figures and standard-issue mecha ("vehicles" if you will) are very affordable. This is especially true when compared to Transformers.
That said, there are still some primo Robotech items out there - new and old. Robotech is a show made up of three different Japanese shows. Those shows were brought over here in the early eighties, combined, dubbed into English, and "Americanized" if you will. (Basically the show didn't have the same Japanese pace and culture connections as the originals did).
All that aside - whenever a toy is released over in Japan in these days (as a collectors item for one of those old Japanese shows), it can pretty much be considered a Robotech collectible. Thus, fans worldwide go after it. (Robotech was released in many different languages)
Anyway, without anymore rambling....here are some pictures:
Here are all of the carded figures I have so far:

Minmei never made the original 1985 Matchbox release, so she was later released on the international Harmony Gold card. (H.G. was the company under which Carl Macek created Robotech)
Here are some loose figures. The tall figures in back are actually Macross 15th anniversary figures from circa 1997/1998. Macross is the original Japanese show which makes up the first 1/3 of the Robotech saga.

The destroids (as they are called) infront of the character figures have been released twice. The original releases (the darker ones) are made of die cast metal and are really neat. The later releases (under the "Exosquad" line) are made of plastic. The dark grey one (Excalibur MK VI) is some other soft PVC like version which I acquired with the others.
Below are a few shots of the official Robotech Masterpiece Collection Roy Fokker. These things originally were released within the past year or two for about $50 to $60. This particular one now goes on ebay for $200+. Fortunately, the one you see in these pictures was acquired via a Buy It Now for $60 just a few days ago by yours truely. ;D
He has decals which I have not yet applied.

Here is a picture in fighter mode with all the armor + stickers applied. You may notice that he looks kinda like Jetfire. Well, in a way he is Jetfire. The toy jetfire should never have been released under the Transformers line. It was ashame that it was as it would have made a great Robotech toy with an accurate paint scheme.

Roy (and the other releases) come in this book-like format. It opens up to reveal the toy (visible through the window) as well as the certificate of authenticity & more.

A Holy Grail if you will, is the SDF-1 (Super Dimensional Fortress) used in the Macross Saga. I acquired this one for a very fair price of around $110. It came in the box with instructions and an unused sticker sheet. I will most likely apply those stickers unless I buy a custom made sheet I saw which would have stickers in better condition.

Note that there are a few more items that I haven't pictured. Some haven't arrived & the other is a semi-secret that I plan on doing a review on here soon. Stay tuned to this thread for more on Robotech stuff acquired by C.K.
