When John said this one was good...I knew it probably would be and boy was he right.
OK, so they mixed JLI, Suicide Squad, Maxwell Lord (which is really JLI, too), The Superfriends/Super Powers Team and CADMUS. I guess this is DC's way of acknowledging Zan/Jayna/Apache Chief/Black Vulcan/and Samurai.
So we have:
Downpour/Shifter=Zan/Jayna Juice=Black Vulcan Long Shadow=Apache Chief Wind Dragon=Samurai
Amanda Waller (Director of Suicide Squad)= herself CADMUS= themselves(of which Superman is familiar but looked puzzled when they mentioned it) Maxwell Lord=himself (he funded the Justice League International)
I thought this was a great way to bring a lot of aspects from DC Univerese into play and acknowledge some "fallen" heroes. Zan and Jayna are actually in the DC Universe, so I am puzzled as to why they didn't use their names. They were in Issue 9 of the Justice League Extreme series.
ANother great story line opens up and leaves room for further development...I am hoping we get to see Suicide Squad, of which Vixen has been a member in the past. I wasn't wild about the fact that they are clones and that they step up a new team due to cellular instability, but if we can get those characters back in the mix in a light form, I would love it. I always liked Zan and Jayna...I am just thankful they left out Gleek!
Overall....loved this episode, witht he exception of the inconsistency of Supes knowing about CADMUS.
....and I love the comment Amanda Waller made to Bat's about Rich Boy. It is awesome for the to acknowledge the far reaching power CADMUS has...maybe we will actually see the Guardian!
