Random thoughts while watching: So..that's g1 ratchet? Ok..they're falling..in space.. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) "Prime, don't try to be a hero; it's not in your programming." -Ultra Magnus. Ouch! The Nemesis! Blackarachnia seems cool..so did blitzwing, until his "third face" showed up..and started singing.. Overall, I thought it was pretty good, and a nice twist at the end. I liked all the characters, to varying degrees, so hopefully what's built on this will be as good or better. I'd say my favorite character is starscream, but prime, bumblebee, megatron, and blackarachnia (as little as we saw of the last two..) were good as well. I think I actually like Sari; she's definitely nowhere near as annoying as the armada brats. I like this style of animation, other than the "whirlwind" transforming. I'd give it a B-, overall.

one thing that I really liked about this new toon is that it mad a connection with the original G1 toon. Armada/Cyberton/Energon ad well as RID were all separate from G1. but this new show picks up many years later.

I thought it was decent, and definitely a BIG step up from Armada/Energon/Cybertron, but I still found it a little boring overall. It's nice to see some characterization and decent voice acting in a TFs series again though, and all the G1 references and in-jokes were definitely cool. And Starscream's voice was so great, there were times I thought Chris Latta had come back from the dead! But the show took a serious nosedive for me when they started showing the human characters. They're better than the kids in the previous three TFs shows, but that's not saying a lot. Luckily the TFs have the spotlight though, as it should be. I give the show a B- or a C+. We'll see how the regular episodes pan out.
BTW, did everyone see the cameo appearances of Spike, Carly, and Daniel early on when they introduced Detroit? They're in their 2005 "future" outfits. Pretty neat.

And here is that picture I posted this on TNI ![](http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a313/teletran35/s-c-d.jpg) OBTW who said this was a continuation of G1? I mean how do you explain a newer younger Optimus Prime and why didn't these people know who they are? The cop asked if it was one of Docs creations since he is the creator of all those bots on the show

OBTW who said this was a continuation of G1? All I know is that Optimus was looking at history vids of the great Autobot/Decepticon war. It was history to him, but the footage was from the G1 cartoon. If its not a continuation of G1, then why play that up as there history?

Tony what was Roses responce to the show? She still needs to watch it again all the way through, but she seems to like it a lot more than me. Her favorite character is Ratchet so far.

I have to say, my wife and I watched it and liked it. The Original animation when it started had me wondering if this was in continuity with G1. The more we watched the more we realized this was fairly far removed from G1.
And Dev- the orgional animation was just for fun- this can not be in continuity man. It would not make sense.
That being a disappointment, I think this was as good as RID or Beast Wars.
I kind of rank them:
G1 Beast Wars RID
All the other series were pretty lame. Pacifist Prime and all that Poke’bot (mini-cons) crap was lame.
So Compared to what we have been dished out over the last few years, this new series was pretty good.

Just finished watching. Not bad at all, very promising. The animation will take a bit to get used to, but I think I will enjoy this series. I picked out three primary influences for creating this continuity - G1, Beast Wars, and the live-action movie.
My favorite character so far is leaning towards Prowl, though Ratchet is a lot of fun as well. Starscream was well played - if only Chris Latte was alive to replay the character. Prime was well played, though the writers did seem a bit unsure of how much "leadership" to give him for this first story - he switched a lot from being entirely lost and uncertain to being confident in trying to take charge. Bumblebee will grow on me - he's very much the "kid" character as well as part of the buddy pair, very reminiscent of BW Cheetor.
Sari is much improved over the recent batch of kids created for Transformers, a reasonable mix between the modern presentation of cartoon kids and the original Spike.
I loved the cameo of Spike, Carly, and Daniel. Also the name of Sari's robot dog, "Sparkplug". I'm pretty sure I missed some of the more subtle nods and references in everything that was going on.
To answer Dev a little more clearly, the "history footage" was all from the pre-Earth G1 continuity. Take a closer look - Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp in their Cybertronian jet forms, the Omega Sentinels, etc. None of it had any connection to Earth. If they can keep up the quality of writing on the show, this could be considered G1-Alternate.

So it seems to me that it has a very light connection to G1, but only the parts that were 4 million years ago, before crashing on earth. But I think that it is actually just an alternate universe, they just use some G1 footage to give it some sort of history.
