Transmorphing protoforms. Cool concept on how they get here in search for the Allspark. They are technically meteors that will crash undetected on Earth and then scan and morph into their Earth forms. Pretty slick if you ask me.

Finally got the bios so I could read them.
Optimus summoned by a signal from one of his bravest warriors. Optimus prime thunders down through the space above earth, and races into battle his protoform body tracing a fiery path across the sky. Most power full among the autobots he is dedicated to the recovery of the all spark. and the protection of both the humans on earth. And his own people back on cybertron. Scanning an earth truck he morphs into a form that will allow him to hide until the time comes to enter battle against megatron!!
starscreams One of the most dangerous creatures in the galaxy. Starscream commands the decepticons search for the allspark while Megatron is missing. Streaking towords earth he reshapes his body. Morphing his metal skin into a protective shell that glows and sparks as he makes his fiery descent. On earth, he will scan a disguise and modify his protoform into an earth fighter jet form that will allow this to achieve his goal! The total destruction of the autobots!

They best way was to come in the Ark 4 Million years ago and then be awakened when the volcanoe explodes

see i liek this new idea, i was never a fan of the ark, the whole how did noone find it sticking out of a mountain, and how did it not erode and decay over time, and on that note how did it stay in the same spot over 4 million years of geological activity?

How is it that archaeologists make new discoveries of ancient cities or dinosaurs. Cybertronian metal may not decay like steel. And finally, who is to say it didn't move.

None of those were sticking out of the side of a mountain in plain sight; this movie must be more believeable than an 80's cartoon. That being said, I'm not liking these too much...

this movie must be more believeable than an 80's cartoon. We're talking about a movie with transforming robots here.

The Ark never stuck out of the Volcano until it exploded in 1984 I agree with WJ, I don't think the Ark was uncovered until Mt Saint Hillary went off in 1984, blowing open some of the rock. It's okay if fans like the idea of the protoforms traveling to Earth, but I don't get why some of these same fans think the idea of TFs flying to Earth in a giant spaceship is such unrealistic and outdated concept in relation. Just because something is new, doesn't necessarily make it superior.

Even if it wasn't sticking out of the mountain, a huge space ship in a populated area would be found; I don't see how there's any question about that. As far is it being believeable, I was referring to plot holes and such.
