From Don Murphys message board.
You know- no one from the production ever confirmed anything that was leaked to Ain’t It **** News. So it may have been actual photos or it may not have been. The bad poet Diabetes has reported on here that Megatron’s head will be changed. From what? Did we ever release an official pic of Megs? No sir we didn’t. I CAN tell you that Megs’ head will not look like he did in the leaked pics. This was done solely because of the leader of Seibertron.com’s delicate work on the process. He is so revered throughout fandom, Hollywood and the world that we decided to make the change. It was NOT because we were trying to make the fans happy. NO SIREE.

Yeah, and The Hulk footage was only rough CG and not the finished product ....

God forbid you do anything for the fans that might make them like your movie.

Could this guy be any more of a Jack. I know that TF fans can be a difficult bunch, be he just has no respect for the people that kept the 80's toon and toys alive all these years.

And the design was actually growing on me; it actually looks scary..the body could use some jazzing up, but the head sculpt was cool. Maybe the pic we've seen is his pre-earth form?
As much as it's been confirmed by the fandom that murphy is a jerk, even if he wasn't I'm sure the idiotic "fans" at his forum would've driven him to it anyway..not that I'd defend murphy, but those guys have problems.
..and I don't think it's the 80's fans that have kept this franchise alive; it's been kids. It's not murph's job to cater to us, he has a much wider audience to please. Not that that gives him the right to be a jerk about it of course.

I was only talking the 80's toon and toys, what this movie is based of of. The kids today could care less about the old toys. And while I dont think that Don should bow to every whem of a fan, I do think that he needs to at least listen to what the fans want and not judge the whole lot of us based on those fools on his board.

That's part of the problem though; the fans he interacts w/, for the most part, are just the ones who post on his board. And if it wasn't for the fans of today, this movie wouldn't be made.

And if it wasn't for the fans of today, this movie wouldn't be made. Not true. Most studios would kill to have the rights to do a Transformers movie - especially in this era of special fx.

Transformers was a pretty popular thing recognized by both kids and adults of the 1980s. I think it falls into the class of culture phenomenon.
If there is a basis for a good movie, they don't hesitate to pull from old TV shows. Good or bad, you have Charlie's Angels, Starsky and Hutch...the Dukes of Hazzard.......arg.....
I think that Transformers - with its roots embedded in pop culture - would stand as a great movie possibility.

I guess I kind of think of tf's as separate from those you mentioned bc it's a kid's show. I mean, what other 80's cartoon has become a big-budget movie recently? Also, a tf movie might've been made anyway, but the current upswing in popularity the last few years, since bw even, certainly doesn't hurt as far as getting butts in the seats is concerned.
