Crazy.
Maybe they really are trying to rope in every possible people group for this movie.

WOW this is truely some interesting and good news. As much as I love the orginial Stan Bush songs for the original TF Movie. The 80's rock sound is great and if very fitting for it. However for the new movie I would hope either for some more modern sort of alternative(not to be confused with Alternator) rock sound for a theme song, and not an 80's sound. Or a more classicial score with a darker and more emotionl feel like a Batman or Star Wars soundtrack. Because during a movie with a great classical music soundtrack you can really pull some very powerful emotional scores out of it. But as a over all theme song I would be fine either way with a modern rock or classical score. Any thoughts, questions, comments?

I really love instrumental music. I think if you get a good composer, you can really go far with an orchestrated score. I would like to hope that Transformers will be more than just an action movie. I hope it touches on more themes than just action. How many times has the rock and roll action movie been done? Too many. Make Transformers more than that. Have a bit of rock. Have tons of action. ....just don't stop there.
Mix and match. Make a good score.

My preference is rock/pop for the theme (gotta have the traditional verbal opening!), then an orchestral score for the rest. There's just so much more you can do for a scene with an instrumental-only background track.

Maybe we can get Weird Al too. Doubtful, but it would be a nice nod.

Could you imagine a modern day Transformers dance to Dare to be Stupid?
Not quite something I enjoyed in the 1986 Transformers movie...and definitely something I would question if it were in the new movie. Haha.
