OK I know you guys all think this is going to be negative about what we know about the movie. Wrong, I am ranting about the complaining fans we have in this fandom. It doesn't matter where I go I am reading nothing but negativity for the movie and everything that goes with it. Why is this? To me if we are going to complain about it this much. We shouldn't have it. We don't deserve it. If it wasn't for someone being creative and going out on a limb we wouldn't have had all this start 20+ years ago. So now we have somebody spending the money to make what looks like it will be an action packed awesome sci-fi movie, and all that is happening is it is getting bashed by the so called fandom. I have rules set here so I can't go and tell the fandom off like I would like to, bu I think most know how I feel. Here are a few things I am seeing in the complaints. Why only American cars(GM), and not anything from Japan. Then there is the whole deal about the robot designs. I have looked at them several times. They are original, and believable if you have an imagination of some sort. Anyways I could go all day on this. Just hear me out members and guests reading this. Be open minded and think outside the fandom looking in. Give it a chance. Non Transformers fans will.

Jeremy, you are kinda crossing a line here. Though true be told - you have probably seen some people complaining about things that are very very picky in regard to the whole. But I am amazed at how the fandom feels the need to take sides regarding what opinions are right and what opinions are wrong. That's not what this is about. It's about the *movie* - not each other!
People here may find it ironic that I all of people will say this - But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Yes, I discuss, debate and argue about things I feel strongly about. I think it is actually funny that people will sometimes go the "be open-minded" route when the skeptic people voice their opinion. I'll continue to argue about something until the end of time, but I do that welcoming the other's opposing views. It's all about the heated debate for me. I want people to be passionate about what they believe in. If they stumble for an instance regarding what they believe, then I am all over them.
I don't feel that anyone has the right to "complain about people complaining" - EVER. (don't take that personally, Jeremy) It really becomes hypocritical in many instances. Think about it - people group 1 are excited about the movie. People group 2 thinks it will be horrible & complains about the movie. Okay. Two sides established.
Rather than see people group 1 continue to bring up the positives that they actually like about the movie and continue on about how it looks like it is going to be great, they feel the need to say "nuh uh!" to those that don't like the direction the movie is going. This is a sign of weakness. A sign of cowardliness. Take a stance on opinions regarding the material in question - not on other people's ability to formulate their own opinion.
People who are passionate about their interests have a right to complain about things they don't like. I don't like it when people tell me to be open-minded about something I don't like - It's like telling me I am unable to establish a negative opinion on something.
Right now - I am pretty convinced this movie is going to SUCKKKKKKKKKKKKK. Period. Am I still going to see it? Yes. Could I change my mind after see it? Sure. In the meantime, people are going to have to hear me complain about it for another year until it comes out - so grow up and deal with it.
I quote my friend Rose in her latest blog:
Both sides could frustrate each other because each is passionate about what they believe - but it is no reason to attack each other because of a difference of opinion.

I like the new designs, for the most part, and I'm doing my best to remain optimistic about the movie. I'm super-psyched that the tf brand has been riding a huge wave of success that allows this movie to be possible, but my biggest concern is that the only Bay movie that has been more than subpar was The Rock, so I'm worried about plot, characterization, etc.
Some fans are of the opinion that we need something new, that we've been g1'ed to death. Well, we're getting something new, but let me add that "new" doesn't necessarily "good", but in this case I'm staying positive bc I think the movie toyline has a lot of potential and the movie will, if nothing else, have some nice explosions and action that will hopefully put arses in the seats. That's all I want; for tf's to continue to be a great line and to grow even further.
About your points about complaining gman; while I agree w/ you on the design, I disagree that this is definitely going to be a sci-fi hit, or that complainers don't have a right to complain. This movie, or any movie, but comic/toon-based movies in particular, won't please everyone. As we all know, fans are very fickle. Some wanted mass shifting. Some didn't. Some wanted megs as a gun and sw as a tape deck. Some didn't. All bay, murphy, and co. can do is make what they think is a good movie that appeals to (wait for it..) the average movie goer. We as fans make up too small of a number to really be counted in this; bay and co. want are trying to draw the movie goer who has a vague recollection of tf's, and those people, imo, want futuristic robots, which we are getting. I can understand why some fans say "that's not a tf", bc they don't look like the traditional tf's of their childhood, or from the current a/e/c arc, but guess what? Things change. You can complain all you want, that's your right, but at the end of the day this, like any other business, is about money, and bay and co. are simply doing what they think will make as much of that as possible.
