Let's say....looks horrible. Ck and I are on the same page on this one. It leaves me questioning a lot about the movie.

Kinda what I expected from the previous pic of the actual movie version we saw; the idea has been thrown around that this is bb's cybertron form before he got an earth alt mode, but I don't know how much truth there is to that. As someone on tni mentioned, he looks more like cheetor. Personally..I dunno. I'll need to see more bots and action shots/vids to form an opinion.

But I just don't have much expectations for it. It just kills me that they just wont do the right thing with it. Which would be easier. But as I have always feared is that they are going to do the "creative Hollywood" thing with it. So depressing that this could be a kick arse movie but it's the idiot stuffed shirts that will kill it. It just looks like a kid's clunky science fair robot or someting.

you know this could look better but i am personally glad the movie isnt going to be 100% G1. G1 the cartoon would not translate well into the "real" world. they have to change everything. plus they have to shoot for way more that the trans fans, and G1 just dosnt really appeal to the people of 2006 lol. i dont know my opinion may not be popular but i like this BB. Dont get me wrong i love G1 but this fits much better into a realist idea. Honestly i hope they meet somewhere in the middle.

I disagree. G1 would translate perfectly with the "real world" and I am not certain why they didn't play it by the book.
Note that I am using the word "perfectly" here.
They don't have to translate the episodes of G1 - Keep the origin story & then write your own stuff after the point when the transformers awaken on Earth & encounter humans. BINGO! It's really not that hard to do!

I think one thing we should keep in mind is that this is transformers: the movie, not g1 transformers: the movie; there are a few g1 plot holes that should be taken out/ignored (ie, the ark sticking out of the side of a mountain in the US for millions of years w/o anyone even noticing..).

I don't consider that a hole. They could easily just bury the whole thing in rock.

I don't consider that a hole. They could easily just bury the whole thing in rock. Aw c'mon, that's gotta be the biggest plot hole in tf history! Even if it was competely buried someone would think, "hey, what caused this mountain to crumble like this?" and they'd find it. Not to mention how would anyone not find the nemesis..

Actually, I think the biggest plothole is why there was a Volcano in the Badlands .....

Destro -
Millions of years can do a lot to rock, vegetation, etc. Plus - your argument is very trivial. It's an extremely minor issue & nobody would really care.
And if you call that the biggest plothole in TF history, then I guess you never watched the original cartoon at all.
The main points are these - 1: This movie is leaning heavily toward "suck." 2: It would have been easier to accept had they stuck with G1. It's the absolute best thing they could have done. There are a lot more people out there that know something about the original transformers than we think. I am amazed at how many people find out I collect Transformers and ask something like, "didn't one of the main guys transform into a red eighteen wheeler?" 3: The younger crowds wouldn't care. It's Transformers. 4: Original point restated - it wouldn't take much to adapt the opening/backstory of the original cartoon to cover up a few of the extremely minor "plotholes" in order to smooth things out. 5: The adaptation of the primary story would be accepted by the die-hards with arms slightly more open. Nobody is going to be perfectly satisfied from that group of fans due to the differences in what many consider to be "important."
But the point is these freaks didn't even TRY!

My point was that it is in fact a huge plot hole; regardless of what rock, etc., is gonna do, a huge spacecraft in the middle of a populated area is going to be found. Eh, it was littered w/ them, but this seems to be the granddaddy of em ell. We've seen very little and you're already this pessimistic? We've seen very little actual footage and I personally still have a lot of hope for this project. Also, what age group of people are you talking to? I'd say they did try to please, and failed bc of whiney fanboys (don murphy's board anyone?). You can't please everyone. SW isn't a tape deck, Megs isn't a gun, etc.

LOL
Why doese it seem like everyone has the G1 blinders on. Why can't people be more open minded about this. We still don't know much about the story. So I would hold judgement. This may be closer to G1 then meets the eye!
