Who would you consider is the best Megatron so far? To me its the one from Energon. He is big, has a lot of firepower, enough weapons and a nice alternate mode. The armada one, I also consider him as a very good figure in terms of playability and fun factor. He is just great.
For the worst Megatron, I think Im gonna nail the BMachines Megatron. Too basic to be Megatron. Horrible gimmick. The neck thing is just pointless. Like hes biting somebody. Rid Megatron, is not that he is a bad figure, its just that his modes dont make sense. most of them, the only one that makes sense is the 2 headed dragon. He looks like something from other line. And G1 megatron is not a great robot either.

Hum best and worst Megs. Let me think. Best megs as far as the toon goes was Armada Megs. He wouldn't take anything from anyone. Best toy wise would be Energon Megs as far as firepower and playability. Worst toy Beast Machines. It was quite inadiquit tahts all I can say about that. Toon would be RID since he didn't seem to be all there.

Toon Best: BW Megs, no doubt. Worst: Rid Megs; didn't do anything til it was too late, iirc.
Toys Best: BW TM Megs and...rid megs! I really like his bot mode and a few of his alt modes; I'll admit that some of them are just goofy though. I have e-galvy and I think he's overrated.
Worst: the only other megs toys I have are armada and wstf, so not much to go on, but bm megs looks pretty bad.

Toon: Best - G1. (All the rest were too goofy) Worst - Armada...but only because I haven't seen RiD or Energon. That character was so thin you could slice it WITH butter.
Toys: Best - Hard to say. There are a lot of good Megatron molds out there. Worst - No idea. Most are pretty cool. G1 Megatron was bittersweet because he didn't have all that great of a robot mode but had the best alt mode - which will never be made again.

Best Megatron is G1 all the way. Worst Megatron is all the rest of them. They all need to just be given away to Good Will. OK, OK sorry about my rant. Good will don't need the junk either. I'm just getting old and bitter I guess.

Worst Toon: G1 Galvatron he was made into a crazy Bot who made no sense I dunno. I rather thought that Galvatron was a very powerful leader for the Decepticons whose weakness was his "post-Unicron death" state of craziness

Galvatron was a great Decepticon leader as long as he had Cyclouns along with him. Because Cyclonus was basicly Galvatron's social worker. Well I guess on the filp side Ultra Magnus was Rodimus Prime's social worker as well.

Because Cyclonus was basicly Galvatron's social worker I can only imagine what Cyclonus would do to you if he heard you say that. Good point. And honestly, I think that if Cyclonus had more ambition...he could have easily have led the Decepticons.

Why are we even arguing about the best toon one. G1 with out a doubt. His toy on the other hand, Yuuuuuuuuuck.
Toy goes to Armada. I picture the movie version being quit a bit like him.

The armada one was pretty good, I think. And Cyclonus as Galvatron's assistant, yes, because Soundwave took a step back.

I'm a huge fan of g1, but toonwise, bw megs is the best; his plans actually worked (who won the beast wars? that's right..), and he beat primal down in their final battle in the nemesis. I know you could say that 80's toons can't be compared w/ more modern ones, but going only by the characters' effectiveness, toughness, and overall badarseitude, bw megs>g1 megs.

He was intelligent enough to steal the golden disk way before he knew the real purpose behind it. He controlled Rampage by taking his spark. BW will remain in my mind as the best tf series ever. The character were very well developed, the enviroment was great, if youre a kid you can enjoy it, if youre an adult, the same. T The battles are great, the g1 references very nice. But back to the topic, he was a great Megatron. I like the transmetal one and the TM 2 one.

I think Beast Wars would have been better if they had made it an action/adventure show rather than a comedy. I kept waiting for Adam Sandler to jump out of one of the stasis pods.

I thought it had a good balance of comedy, action/adventure, drama, and a sprinkling of romance. Why do you see it only as a comedy? What about the Agenda 3-parter, Code of Hero, etc.? I saw it as more of a drama then anything else...maybe a dramady.

I have to agree, BW ended up more comedy than anything else, but that's where Mainframe made its mark - humorous CG. (Ever see Reboot?)
It did have its more serious story arcs, but overall the tone of the show started as action/adventure and slid over to comic.
I still love it, though!

I guess I saw it as a comedy because that was the genre that stuck out the most when I watched it. Ironic as it is - I think Rattrap was my favorite character.
But he couldn't really go two lines without cracking a joke. He made fun of Dinobot. Cheetor had his fare share of cat jokes, himself. Rhinox had a gassy moment. Megatron twiddled his hands in dino mode, took baths, AND took baths with a rubber duck. Waspinator was blown up every episode & that got old. Even Optimus had his little sayings from time to time.
I got tired of that same formula every episode. I think the show could have taken itself more seriously than it did.
I think G1 took itself very seriously - and I liked that style much more. Of course you have episodes like Kremzeek!, Hoist Goes to Hollywood, and the Girl who loved Powerglide (as many are quick to point out). But you also have stuff like the Ultimate Doom, S.O.S. Dinobots, The Search for Alpha Trion, Dark Awakening & some of my favorites - War Dawn and The Rebirth. There were some pretty dark episodes in season 3, really - the whole series took on a darker tone that season.
Back to Beast Wars - There were funny moments that I laughed at - I just didn't see laughing as the appropriate basis for a show. If there were dramatic moments, comedy would always enter the picture (as it always does when comic relief it needed) - however when comedy is already there in the first place, comic relief from a stressful moment just creates an overdose of the stuff.
And unfortunately, by the time I got to code of hero I got to the end and said, "That was supposed to be a good episode?" It would be like watching Seinfeld for two seasons & then one episode see him save a kid by pulling him from the street at the last second from an oncoming vehicle. It would have no effect on me just as code of hero had no effect.
Was I disappointed in Beast Wars? Yes. Did I dislike Beast Wars? No. Would I watch it again? Yes.
