Overall I feal good about the lines. I know licenses are expensive and take a while to aquire, but new molds need to come out faster. Hold the reapints a litttle longer then 2 waves. The idea of crosing into other serieses to get caracters is ok, but a few more G1 names should be used first.

So far they have all been G1 names as far as I'm aware, except for changing Bluestreak to Silverstreak and Jazz to Meister (the Japanese name) due to losing the rights to the original names. I still want to know how they can still own the mold but lose the character name associated with it ....
I've been very impressed with the Alternators so far, especially the decision to make "Tracks" blue in the US. The upcoming "Battle Ravage" (another lost name right) and possibly Shockwave (waiting on the final version to judge) are a bit disappointing in appearances. Despite its detractors, I like the Grimlock mold.
Overall, Hasbro is doing a good job. I would like to see them go more actively for truck, SUV, and maybe motorcycle licenses to add a little more variety (Ironhide HAS to be a large truck or SUV), but things still look good for the future.
Now if they can only tweak the distribution a bit to get the new stuff out a bit more concurrently .....

Doesn't seem like it's been a year already...overall I'm quite pleased with the line. Hound and Tracks are my favorites so far, and meister, grimlock, and shockwave look good as well. I also would like to see more variety in the alt modes, such as motorcycles, suvs, and, if possible, military vehicles like tanks and fighter jets (but I doubt that'll happen).
Like Jo, however, I'm also a bit disappointed w/ the distribution. I saw tracks once, still haven't seen meister, and my local stores are full of the first 3 alts, and the wm I work at has about 8 silverstreaks and 4 sideswipes.

Wow it's been a year with these. Time does go by faster the older you get. I am a huge fan of the Alt line. It is the best thing to happen to TFs since G1. The real cars, articulation, scale, and detail is fanominal! These things are basicly adult TFs for us 80's kids. With the excetpion of that hidious Ravage they will be doing I'm happy so far. There a a few others side notes that would have made it perfect. Everyone knows the Dead End(should be Sunstreaker), a couple of name losses. Grimlock should have been some sort of big truck(but he is growing on me). I'm still undesided on Shockwave. But hey no toy line is perfect. But the positives way out number any negatives. I would as well like to see some trucks, SUVs, and a big red van. Just to add a little more varity other than just the cool cars. I give the line a grade of A-. If some of the above things could have changed to what should have been then an A++++++ I hope the line continues.
