So for me...I had a kidney transplant in October 2009. Had some very bad complications when they found out they had to remove my native kidneys, due to their size. I was in the hospital from 2 days before Thanksgiving all the way until the 23rd of Decmeber...most of it either in a catatonic state or with narcosis or ICU psychosis. I nearly died twice, but by the grace of God and lots of prayers from friends and family i made it through. I finaly was well enough to walk around on my own by mid March. I weighed 117 lbs, so i was quite fragile. I was on IV feeding for 6 weeks after I got out of te hospital, because i had pancreatitis, which rebooted my body, but in the process was shutting it down to do it. I was IV fed after about 2 full weeks in the hospital and remained on that until about mid Feb.
Once I got back to normal, everything I didn't have preordered at BBTS, I had to back track and get to fill in my collections..particularly JLU. I celebrated my 2 year anniversary with my kidney this past October 1st.
So now, i have pretty much dumped Transformers as far as collecting, but I still love them. I love the TF Prime series, it could be a bit better, but it certainly got better toward the end of season 1. I am full engulfed in collecting DC, MOTUC, and T-Cats! I am into all the DC liines, Young Justice-both Sizes, DCUC, DC Direct busts and statues and Tonner DC Stars dolls. ALso soon to be All-Stars line. MOTUC am fully into that line I have 3 subs for it and pick up a lot of the reissues. Thunder-Cats I collect the 8" and 4" figs and the soon to be released 6" classics line.
I am reading the new DCnU..pretty much all titles, except a few...anyone else reading those?
Tons of reading goodness within those pages!!! Look forward to reading about what you guys are up to!
Running to go watch the new Fright Night in 3D. We jsut got a new 65' Panasonic 3D TV a few weeks ago. We had to replace our 55" samsung 3D after only 15 months...boo hiss...

Well I also had a medical issue that needed to be addressed. It in no way compares to Jays experience, but a surgery is a surgery non the less. I had to have a hernia operation. It was an umbilical hernia, so they had to sew in a mesh of some sort to keep my intestines from coming out through my navel area. I had this done in October of 2009, Because this was the 2nd time I had this done, it had a longer recovery time, about 12 weeks total.
The rest of the family are doing well, my girls just turned 6 and had an awesome birthday party. We had it at a place called BounceU and invited all the girls from there class.
I have started going back to school to get my Bachelors Degree. I am pursuing the following degree: B.S. Information Technology—Networks Design and Management
As for collecting. I have not done much in the past 2 or so years. In fact I all but stopped. In early 2009 I was big into collecting the diecat cars from Pixars Cars. I have most all of them. I only have 2 from Cars 2. I just got back into collecting TF's, but only collect G1 and the Classics/Generations lines. i am also looking to get back into model railroading, but that will have to wait until I have space to make a good layout.

Well I guess since we are comparing battle scars right now. I had an appendectomy back in April. I figured out what it was before it ruptured. Otherwise I have been working 6-7 day work weeks on third shift, and was promoted to shift lead. So not much of a life this year for me.
looking forward to the Prime toys. Hopefully I can teach Hayden some responsibility with them. The kids love Prime, and so does Kyla. She just won't admit it.

The past few years have been a lot of working and babysitting; my sis has two kids and I babysit between two and four days a week. Ella is five and I'm helping her w/ her spelling and writing. I'm still trying to find a job w/ my degree, and also looking for an apartment.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I've picked up some joe figs and I'm looking forward to prime toys. I also bought a 3ds earlier in the year so I've been playing that a fair amount. I'll probably start putting in some serious Skyward Sword time at the beginning of 2012, after the holiday season craziness is over.

Yeah due to my 30lb kidneys having to be removed, this past May, I had to have a hernia operation as well. That has to be the suckiest type of surgery because it takes forever to recover and you can't do most of the things you used to for a long time, if ever. I had the biological matter used in mine. It was a very big sheet and they attached it and it has been working quite well.
